5 Cotswold alternative wedding venues
I have put my favourite alternative cotswold wedding venues all in one place. They aren’t in any specific order as each one will appeal to different people for different reasons but these venues are all about being different! I have photographed weddings at most of them and have at least had a good chat with all of them, so I can confirm they are awesome and not only do they treat the customers like royalty they aren’t too bad to the suppliers working your wedding day too. This is great because if your suppliers like photo, video, Dj, stylist, band etc are having a good time and being looked after, then they are more than happy to give you that little bit more too! anyway enough of my waffle about how and why you will have a great time lets get into these venues!
Llanthony Secunda Priory- Gloucester

I love this little venue, it is an accent priory and has so much character that it feels like you have gone back in time. It can hold up to 140 guests in the biggest hall and you also get 12 acres of grounds to play with too. It is set in the centre of Gloucester so accommodation for your guests is easy and if you want somewhere super special this place backs on to the Gloucester sharpness canal and at the bottom of the garden you can stay at the light house boat as it is an air B&B. now you can’t ask for more than that !

Milton end is pretty epic if I am honest! I have seen this venue dressed up many ways! but what’s cool about is that it’s still a working farm! so theirs loads of awesome places to have your picture taken and loads of land around it for those sunsets and great lighting too! The staff among some of the best I have worked with, every wedding I have photographed at this venue has been seamless, unstressed and a sh*t ton of fun!
Matara Centre - Tetbury

Matara Centre has it all and I am not exaggerating! they have the classic cotswold Manor House, they have an epic lake, they have a spiral cut garden and they even have a Japanese garden! your couldn’t ask for the scenery in your wedding to change more than it does at this place. They also have a full team or well trained staff that are incredible at their jobs and no ask is too big for this place either!

These guys are pretty new to me. I came across them when chatting to a couple about their up and coming wedding so I can’t give you too much detail… but! how F**king sweet would it be to have an actual big top as your wedding venue? if your planning a festival theme, rave theme, or even a circus theme wedding these guys have got you covered! they will come in and set it all up for you and they do an incredible job at it too! I would love to get some elephants in their and maybe some acrobats for entertainment too!
Ettington Park- Stratford Upon Avon

Dark, Moody, Dramatic, more photo locations than you could shake a stick at… Ettington park has got you covered for this for sure! I recently shot a wedding here and had the best time. I couldn’t run out of places for a biccie. I tried trust me. the in side is amazing, the grounds are endless and the staff are epic! I love everything about it! I am still not quite sure how they got such a great balance of elegance and alternative.
